Knowing how to use computer-aided design software is an important skill for engineers. I decided to self-teach myself how to use AutoCAD 2016 by assigning myself a project.
I was planning on modeling Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, since I’ve always wanted to build and design medical devices that treat arrhythmias. However, just a couple blocks south, I found Medtronic’s Operational Headquarters, located at 710 Medtronic Parkway Northeast, Minneapolis, MN. It was a little more structurally interesting, so with the help of some ImageJ analysis and eyeballing, I created my own little version.
