The Impossible List is a concept first created by Joel Runyon. I first heard about the Impossible List from Thomas Frank and was inspired to create my own.
For people who haven’t heard of an Impossible List before, it’s similar to a bucket list but with some major differences:
- A bucket list gets shorter as you accomplish as each item is crossed off, so there is no follow-up. An Impossible List can be updated, which means once a goal is achieved, a more challenging goal can be issued.
- A bucket list is about the event and the ending, while the Impossible List is about growth process and the journey.
- The most important difference is that a bucket list catalogs experiences you want in the future. An Impossible List encourages you to take action now.
To make my Impossible List a little more effective, I created a list of things I’m currently working on.
