2019 NBA Hackathon

May 2019 - July 2019  |  Python: pandas

In July 2019, I applied to the 2019 NBA Hackathon. I had to answer one of two questions:

  1. Basketball Analytics: Calculate the offensive and defensive rating for each player in each game of the 2018 Playoffs.
  2. Business Analytics: Given a sample dataset of 1000 Instagram posts by @nba since October 1, 2017, predict total number of engagements.

Basketball analytics has always intrigued me, so I decided to pursue the Basketball Analytics track. You can find the Github repository for the hackathon application here:

Thanks to my increased exposure and practice with data science, I was able to move onto the final phase of the 2019 NBA Hackathon.
